BitPix macOS Support
BitPix is designed for professional and commercial photo shoot management. The app allows direct integration of BitPix Cloud with Capture One Pro. The interface may have a small footprint, but there are powerful features beneath!
With the exception of our Capture Counter feature, a BitPix Cloud account is required to utilize the full feature set.
Setup Instructions (BitPix account)
Download and install BitPix from the Mac App Store. Also, make sure to have Capture One Pro 11 installed, otherwise you’ll be limited to the Capture Counter and the batch folder creation feature.
Open the app and immediately go to BitPix -> Preferences and enter your BitPix account information and then click “Save” in the upper right corner.
Enter your password and then click “Login” in the upper left corner.
A list of shoots that you have access to will now be displayed in the Shoot Table.
Open the Capture One session that you’ll be working in.
Create your shot folders. First select the shoot you’ll be working in, and then click the “Create Shot Folders“ button. In the dialog box that appears, select your Captures folder or whatever location you’d like the shot folders to be created. Once you click “OK”, all folders from the shoot will be created. Note: If you already have folders with the same name in the directory you selected, we’ll skip those folders so that they are not overwritten. However, we always recommend having a backup at all times.
Sync metadata, shot status, and time per shot. All three of these features are enabled once you click on the shoot you’ll be working in and then click the “Start Metadata Sync” button.
Run Capture Counter. Start with step #2 in the instructions below. We recommend running the iOS app on an iPad and then placing near the art director on set.
Setup Instructions for capture counter (all users - no account)
Download and install BitPix from the Mac App Store.
Join our beta program and download the iOS app: https://testflight.apple.com/join/qsLmEUo8
Open BitPix on the Desktop and click “Launch Shot Counter”. Once you click “OK” the server will return the IP address and copy it to your clipboard. If you receive an error, go to BitPix -> Preferences and select your IP address and then click “Save”.
Open the BitPix iOS app and enter the IP address the server returned in the step above and click the “Connect“ button.
NOTE: Capture Counter is optimized for Capture One Pro, but if you are using Lightroom or another application to tether your camera to the computer, you can still use it as well! The only catch is that you’ll need to set your capture folder location in Preferences and you’ll need to update it each time you change capture folders. With Capture One Pro we detect the capture folder automatically.
